Chemville: the first Chemical eStorage facility located in cyberspace.

Chemville was conceived as a virtual/physical storage facility to facilitate buying or selling of unused chemicals, or as we like to call it - chemical espace. Visit Chemville "The unused chemical surplus adspace" and either add to, or purchase from the existing inventory of unused chemicals.

Chemville's mission statement is......... "Save an atom, recycle a molecule."

Chemville's espace inventory includes primarily unused chemicals, typically abandoned in shipments, which are still virgin products and usable. Chemville's secondary inventory includes chemicals that have been previously used, but are still useful, with potential benficial use and thereby remain valuable.

Chemville's future goal is to provide an animated chemical espace which is currently under construction. While we continue the work of bringing a new dimension to the chemical espace world, we welcome you to Chemville's thriving world of chemical adspace where chemcials are posted for sale and can be purchased in espace.

Chemical Safety   NFPA Storage Guidelines   Useful Government Links

The safe storage of chemicals are based on standard safety storage protocals including Fire Protection codes of The National Fire Safety Association (NFPA) and the Occupation and Health and Safety Association (OSHA)

The system is characterized by the "diamond shape" that is actually a "square-on-point" shape. It identifies the hazards of a material and the degree of severity of the health, flammability, and instability hazards. Hazard severity is indicated by a numerical rating that ranges from zero (0) indicating a minimal hazard, to four (4) indicating a severe hazard. The hazards are arranged spatially as follows: health at nine o'clock position, flammability at twelve o'clock position, and instability at three o'clock position. In addition to the spatial orientation that can be used to distinguish the hazards, they are also color-coded as follows: blue for health, red for flammability, and yellow for instability.
The six o'clock position on the symbol represents special hazards and has a white background. The special hazards in use are W, which indicates unusual reactivity with water and is a caution about the use of water in either fire fighting or spill control response, and OX, which indicates that the material is an oxidizer.

Chemical Safety is achieved by understanding and implementing all of the BEST practices protocols regarding safe chemical; handling, transport, and storage. Guidelines providing safe chemical handling, storage and transportation are provided by the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Occupational Health and Safety Agency (OSHA) activities involving chemicals.
